sat = fail

dieting on a saturday was undoubtedly an inevitable fail, no matter how strong your will power may be.

after my disgustingly healthy breakfast of salmon, greens and pork [pork = healthy? not so much], tammy and i were off to run a couple of quick errands at stonestown before the bbq began at 3:30pm.

while we were getting ready to be on our way, i couldn't resist grabbing a bag of cold, crisp grapes before leaving. it's vital to get in your multiple servings of colorful fruits + veggies :)
first stop, MAC.

not wanting to appear cake-like on a daily basis, i was forced to exchange the "sheer cover loose powder" aka cakeface powder for my usual blot powder - medium dark $22

it's best used after your usual powder/foundation application as a light touch up to camouflage the shiny oily film that develops on top of your t-zone throughout the day. it creates a seamless canvas that battles all elements of nature leaving you looking refreshed, relaxed and matte.

while i was there, i couldn't help but remember i recently ran out of my favorite brow highlighter.  i swear, MAC really is the devil.

rice paper is a peachy gold with the tiniest hint of a shimmer [frost] and it's widely used for highlighting directly beneath the brow bone giving off the illusion of more length from eye to brow.  needless to say, it's one of my many MAC staples.

alright, enough of MAC. time to hit up Bare Escentuals.

i'm actually not much of a BE girl, in fact, i rarely ever go to BE with the exception of purchasing my best beauty secret of all, bronzer.

bronzer does it all.

it gives your ghastly pale skin life and it flushes the look of youth back into your skin while providing the tiniest hint of color to your cheeks. it really is the best invention after toilet paper.

after a productive errand run [err, makeup shopping trip], we rush back to my place just in time for wendy to pick us up and we were off to the bbq @ brisbane.

brisbane is a minuscule city located on the outskirts of san francisco. it's a tiny suburban area with the advantages of the city and the comforting lifestyle suburbs embody.  i call it, the best of both worlds.

as we arrived, i was praying for a shortage of food. i knew there was no way i could practice self control at a bbq, i mean, c'mon.

ugh.

there were mountains on food on every surface imaginable.

large racks of deliciously marinated pork ribs

perfectly barbequed chicken wings with the right hint of sweetness

an abundance of shish-kebabs with the juiciest pork meatball attached at the ends

an explosive chocolate cake, oozing with white chocolate creaminess and extremely moist

boxes of chocolate chip cookies teeming full of decadent chocolate chips

a box of mixed cookies filled with seemingly healthy oatmeal raisin + sugary sweet white chocolate macadamia nut

a healthy vegetable platter consisting of:
crunchy individually cut broccoli
different colored sweet bell peppers
sliced baby carrots
crisp cucumbers
ranch dip

a giant tray of chow mein

assorted dim sum

a tray filled with freshly baked strawberry cupcakes

an enormous sponge cake topped with sweetened fruits

fruit tart with kiwi, strawberries and assorted fruits on a chocolate layered crust

haagen daaz ice cream bar: chocolate and almond w/coffee ice cream

fresh salmon sashimi

i ate so much i think i gained a food baby.

blech.

after all this shameless indulging, you'd think i would stop while i was ahead...you were wrong.

made from whole grain

i guess i don't feel THAT bad about eating it...although i did binge on all this after 1am...
